BCL International cancelled!
The visas of the actors have not been processed for their US trip. This comes as a big blow 3 days before the inaugural match
Ekta Kapoor’s plans of taking Box Cricket League (BCL) to an international level have been scrapped – and rather unceremoniously.

SpotboyE.com has it that the league, which was expected to kick off in San Francisco this weekend, has been cancelled. Reason – unavailability of visas for certain players on time.
Hiten Tejwani, who is a part of Kolkata Babu Moshayes, confirmed the news saying, “It was cancelled last night. Our interviews with the US embassy were scheduled too close to the match date. The paper work of other players was also not getting processed in time.”
On being asked why the visa formalities were left till the last minute, Hiten was evasive, “I have no clue.”
So has the tournament been cancelled for now or has it been pushed? “As far as I know, it stands cancelled for now,” said the actor.
However, Sunny Arora of Marinating Films, who was the event organiser, had a different version. He said, “The tournament has not been cancelled but pushed to a further date. The USA event company is working on the logistic and venue for the new date.”
When asked why the visa was not organized well in advance, an angry Sunny shot back, “Do you have a US visa?”
More than 50 TV actors including Karan Wahi, Suyyash Rai and Kishwer Merchant were expected to be a part of the tournament.
Interestingly, BCL 2, which was recently telecast on Colors, had not really garnered impressive TRPs. But the international version was planned as the organisers felt that it had a lot of takers in the international circuit.
